Weight Loss Secrets: Acupressure


Have you been trying to lose weight and just haven’t been successful? Doesn’t counting calories in and out make you feel exhausted and disgusted? If so, you are like a lot of people who have gone about weight loss in what has become the “traditional” way, all the while there has been an option for you to consider that won’t be all about the number. Acupressure for weight loss has been used for generations and it can work for you. Many people think that you have to be a “certain type of person” to go about these methods, but you don’t. Acupressure can help you control your appetite and manage your weight better, and the greatest thing is that it isn’t difficult.

Weight Loss, Acupressure, and You

You can choose to go to an acupressure provider for your weight loss treatments or you can even try to take some of them on yourself. There are some great manuals online as well as in your library that will help you learn where to find the points in your body that can help you change your appetite and control your weight in a much more efficient manner.

When you look into acupressure for weight loss you will find that you can start at the ear, as that is where the appetite control point is found. You can stimulate this pressure point at the beginning of each treatment and find that you are able to start controlling appetite. You can begin to control appetite by placing your hands on your jaw next to your ear. Open and close your mouth and you’ll feed your jaw moving under your finger. If you feel right next to this there will be a fleshy protrusion that is part of the ear, press on this with a steady pressure.

Another great acupressure point for weight loss includes the spleen 6. This acupressure point is located on the leg above the ankle bone. What you will do is find the ankle bone and then measure up four finger widths. The point will be found just to the side of the bone toward the back of the leg. Again, when you find it you will need to press, preferably with your thumb or knuckle, with the same steady pressure. You’ll want to hold this for about a minute.

Yet another awesome acupressure point to help you with your weight management is the stomach 36 point. This will help to nourish the chi and the blood and will also benefit the digestive system. You will find this point by starting at the knee and going four finger widths below the border of the kneecap and then go one finger off of the shin bone, toward the outside of the leg. You’ll know you are in the right place if you can feel the muscles move under your fingers when you flex your foot. Use firm pressure and hold for about one minute.

From the stomach pressure point you will want to take your finger across the shinbone until you are just off of the shin on the inside of the leg this time. Continue by sliding the finger up the shinbone toward the knee, give or take about an inch, until you find a depression. When you press down on this you will help with water regulation in the body.

These are just a few of the acupressure points in the body that can help you with weight management and weight loss. Each of them plays a vital part in maintaining a healthy weight without doing it in an unhealthy way. Many people don’t believe how effective this really is until they try it, and then they are hooked!
