Natural Ways To Look After Your Skin

skin Natural Ways To Look After Your SkinCosmetics and beauty care is a multi-million dollar industry marketing thousands of creams and treatments to supposedly look after your skin. The problem is that these products often contain harsh chemicals which could be damaging your skin. The long-term effects of these chemicals and treatments like botox and chemical peels are yet to be seen.

How to look after your skin naturally

Keep hydrated

Water is essential to beautiful skin as dehydrated skin will look tired and haggard, fine line and wrinkles are more evident and you may suffer from skin eruptions and bloating as your skin cells retain water when dehydrated, causing puffiness.

Dietary Changes

We really are what we eat and skin beauty comes mainly from the inside out. If you want to have great skin you need to eat well to nourish it and avoid eating foods that will harm your skin. Sugar should be avoided as much as possible and fiber and ‘good fats’ increased in your diet.

Get your circulation moving

For optimum health our cells need plenty of oxygen and if we lead a sedentary lifestyle where through sitting in an office all day or watching too much television for example your circulation will suffer. Massage, exercise, stretching are all excellent ways to increase your circulation as is exfoliating which will also remove dead skin cells leaving your skin glowing and help to reduce cellulite.

Limit your exposure to the sun

While exposure to the sun provides vitamin D and a little tan can make you look healthier, too much sun can create irreversible damage to your skin aging it prematurely. As well as using sun block when you will be out in the sun for long periods of time, you can use hats and long sleeve clothes to protect your skin.

Change to natural skin products

As we have already pointed out, regular cosmetics and beauty products are full of harsh and toxic additives to increase the appeal of the product by changing its color, smell or texture. Natural products will contain far less or in some cases none of these harmful chemicals. To ensure that you are getting a truly natural product check for a seal of approval by a certified organization which will guide you away from products that just claim to be natural. A lot of the supposedly natural products in fact contain just one or two natural ingredients together with the usual chemicals found in other products. If you can’t pronounce the ingredients you probably shouldn’t use it, particularly if you have sensitive skin as this will just cause irritation.

With just these simple changes you can help great looking skin without having to spend a fortune on beauty products. Your whole body will benefit from these changes as well as your skin and you can avoid the long-term damage that many people are exposing themselves to. All you need is more water, exercise, sun protection, a healthy diet and natural products.

Thanks for promoting a natural approach to health and skin care. We need a lot more people on the band wagon so that big corporation starts getting the message about what the consumer wants. It really is a very simple approach to how you live your life and have wellness that shows inside and out. Keep writing!
