Soy Protein: How it can help women!

At one time or another, the majority of women have been encouraged to eat and drink calcium rich substances so that they can keep strong bones and general health. An often overlooked food is soy protein. Soy protein should be a part of every woman’s diet, as it helps in the ways listed below.

Hot Flashes - These commonly occur when a woman is experiencing perimenopause. Soy protein will often decrease the effects of moderate and mild hot flashes. Soy has phytoestrogens, which have been shown to imitate human estrogen. This is an excellent alternative to other procedures.

Bone Health - For women going through menopause, losing bone mass is a severe problem. Osteoporosis is much more likely when bone mass drops. It also puts you at risk for bone fractures, which are most detrimental to elderly women. The magnesium, boron, and calcium in soy are important ingredients for healthy bones. Soy also contains isoflavones, which are substances that slow the deterioration of your bones. Soy is a great substance for continuous health.

Heart health - It is no secret that cholesterol is a large part of heart disease. Previously considered a bigger problem for men, we now realize that heart disease affects women too. Studies have shown that soy reduces the levels of bad cholesterol. Soy helps with current heart problems, in addition to preventing future issues.

Cancer Prevention - Soy is not only for older women; its prevention properties are of great advantage to young women. Certain components of soy may reduce breast cancer risk in younger women. Though not convincing beyond a doubt, early studies on the matter are optimistic.

Additionally, soy boosts immune systems, which means less sicknesses and shorter recovery times.

After deciding to use soy, you must figure out how much to take. The right amount is crucial, as excess soy protein can cause problems. Many doctors recommend around 50mg per day. Even though supplements are available, there is no substitute for receiving the protein naturally, through diet. Some scientists believe that tofu is a better source than products like soy milk.
