It can be difficult to schedule time to exercise in our busy lives, but what if it helped you to reduce your stress levels by 50%?

How Exercises Lowers Anxiety And Stress Levels

  • Mood enhancer

Because the chemicals released when you exercise make you feel happier it will lift your spirits and improve your mood. The increased blood flow to the brain that comes from exercise enhances this happy and energetic mood. With an improved mood you will feel in a better frame of mind to deal with anxiety and stress.

  • Energy booster

Stress can take its toll by making you feel exhausted and drained of energy. IIf you can introduce exercise into your morning routine your will find you have more energy to keep you going throughout the day. If you are just starting, exercise may cause you to feel tired at first but be persistent your energy will start to increase day by day.

  • Restful sleep

A good nights sleep is essential to feel rested and recharged to face any stressful situations. If the mind is unable to relax at night, sleep will be disturbed making you tired and irritable the next day. If on the other hand, you are able to sleep well, your mind will be refreshed and better able to deal with stressful situations. If you are going to do aerobic exercise remember that you should not do it just before you go to bed.

  • Time to think

Much of the stress we suffer from comes from right inside our mind. Instead of solving whatever problems we face, we spend the time worrying about to fix them. When you are exercising is a great time to ponder on our problems and how to resolve them, giving us a break from the situation and time to work out a solution.

Exercise does not need to be an intense physical work out, as you can also try gentler exercises which are just as effective such as stretching or yoga. They are fantastic for easing tense, sore muscles, relaxing you and clearing the mind. These exercises can also be done before bedtime without affecting your sleep and can be ideal for those without time to do exercises in the mornings. By relieving the tension in your body before you go to bed you will be also sleep better. While yoga and stretching in general will be beneficial. you can also learn specific poses or stretches that are specifically targeted to reducing stress.

Find the type of exercise that suits you and your schedule the best and make a start. The sooner you start exercising the sooner you will feel the benefits and start feeling stressed and anxious.
